Sebastian Feik: Global Managing Director, legitimis GmbH
Sebastian Feik, founder and global CEO of legitimis, completed his studies as a commercial lawyer specializing in labor and data protection law at the Rheinische Fachhochschule Köln. (University of Applied Science, Cologne) He then spent seven years working for an international testing and service group as an external data protection officer and senior consultant for Data Protection & Privacy. Mr. Feik is a member of the Presidium of the Federal Association IT Mittelstand eV and spokesman for the Section IT Security, a member of the board of ASIS Germany eV, as well as spokesman of the working group Smart Privacy Hub of the Cyber Security Council Germany eV. Until September 2017 Mr. Feik was also spokesman of the board of the Regional Forum Bergisches Land of networker NRW.
David Coddon: CEO, legitimis.us LLC
Attorney at Law David Coddon focuses mainly on data privacy and export compliance. He received his law degree from Case Western Reserve University and holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois.Mr. Coddon has assisted clients from the IT, automotive, and healthcare sectors with the establishment and maintenance of regulatory compliance programs.
He has advised clients on a range of U.S. laws and regulations, including: HIPAA/HITECH; ITAR; EAR; OFAC; FTC Section 5; and pending bills and industry standards pertaining to telematics, geo-location, connected car services, and behavioral advertising.
In addition, he has helped a number of European clients develop mechanisms for the adequate transfer of personal data from the EEA to the U.S. This has included establishing Binding Corporate Rules (BCR); negotiating European Standard Contractual Clauses (ESCC); and helping clients “self-certify” under the new “Privacy Shield” framework.
Mr. Coddon is responsible for the company’s U.S. operations.
